Our day...

We went shopping today, the boys used some of their gift certificates to get themselves some clothes. On our way home we stopped at the Puppy Rescue. When we got there, Kevin said he'd sit in the car with the boys and sent me in to look. I went in, looked at all the cute puppies, then came back outside so Kevin could go in. He goes in, comes back out and says...go buy that puppy!

So we now have a puppy!! He's a 9 week old German Shepherd/Collie mix. The lady said that this puppy was *almost* full blooded (not sure how she knows that, but I didn't ask). He still doesn't have a name yet...we are working on it and should have one by tomorrow!

Answered Prayers

I sit here in awe of what God has done. I have been meaning to post this a few days ago, but got side-tracked. I want to thank you all so very much for your prayer support over the past couple months about Kevin's job situation. Things have calmed down and we feel "settled" now!!

Here's a run-down:
The contract that Kevin was supposed to sign (stating he would pay the company A HUGE amount of money if he quit) is GONE! They decided it wasn't beneficial for them to do that since they would lose a lot of their employees. They gave a raise company wide to cover the cost of the new insurance. Then they come back and offered another raise to Kevin (in hopes that he wouldn't quit and go to a contract house)!! It's great! Kevin said with that raise, I DON'T have to find a job!!

God is SO good!! PRAISE THE LORD!!

Works For Me Wednesday

Every Wednesday Rocks In My Dryer hosts a "Works For Me Wednesday".  Today is my first time doing this.  The theme this week is Brand Loyal.

So here are a few things I am Loyal to!

1.  Miracle Whip...I can't stand Mayonnaise!

2.  Luvs...all 4 of my boys have broke out in rashes with generic diapers.  We've tried Huggies, but they've leaked every time we used them.  Pampers is good, but expensive.  So Luvs works for us!

3.  Pampers Sensitive Baby Wipes...the only wipes that my boys don't scream when I use them!

4.  Bounty Paper Towels...everything else doesn't work well for us.

5.  Tidy Cat Litter...we've tried many other brands, but it seems that Tidy Cat is the only litter that seems to keep the smell down!

6.  Tide with Febreze...My towels smelled musty before I started using this!  It's great!!

7.  Febreze...I love this product!  I usually spay down the carpets, and furniture before getting any company and it makes my house smell so clean!

Most other things, I can do generic.

Relief!

Well, sort of! I got some Naselcrom tonight...took my 1st dose and I could feel it working! I got a little relief! I'm sure with more uses I'll get more relief from these nasty allergies!! I used to use this stuff years ago and it worked really well. My plan is if I do end up going to the doctor for allergies to ask about the nasal spray type. Those seem to work the best for me. At one time I was on Patanol, Allegra, and Nasenex. As long as I had Nasenex, I was fine, but when I ran out of Nasenex, nothing else worked...so the Allegra didn't do anything for me. My sister was on Zyrtec at one point (I think she still is, but I'm not sure) and told me that worked well with her and her allergies and asthma. I also want to go in soon (well, when we have the extra money) to get checked out for asthma. I've had signs of it before and my sister was diagnosed with it a couple years ago. When I went in at one time for the doctor to check it out, she didn't do a thing, just said "Nope, you don't have it" without any tests! (I'm guessing that's not the way it should have been done...not that I want asthma, but if I do have it, I want to be prepared...KWIM?)

Earlier today (when we got back and started unloading the desk...THANKS RHEANNAH), my hips went out. Man did that hurt! We have have the desk upstairs and the other half downstairs. We need to wait until my back is a bit better before taking the rest of it down. Anyway, it hurt to stand, sit, and lay down. Eventually I got into a comfortable position...comfortable enough to take a nap...and slept for an hour or 2. After my nap, I got up and moved around a bit and it seems to have gone back into place, but my back is still hurting a bit. I hate when this happens!! I know it will get better the more I move around, but it hurts to move!

UGH!!

Stuffy Head...Runny nose...watery eyes...sneezing...pain...

Oh the agony!! That's me right now!! My allergies are in full force and it stinks (not that I can breath through my nose right now)!!

I went to my medicine cabinet (well, not really a cabinet, it's basically a basket full of meds that I can't find a place for right now sitting on my dresser in my room) and found Alevert. I thought "Oh wow, that worked before...maybe I can use this" So I called the Pharmacy and asked them about it when nursing...she said I can't take a Antihistamine while nursing because it will dry up my milk!! HUH?? That's not good, but what am I supposed to do for relief?? She said that I have 2 options...1) Try the OTC Naselcrom or 2) go to the doctor and get a prescription!

Well, since money is tight at this moment in time and insurance will be changing in the next couple of days, I guess we'll try the Naselcrom! Hopefully that will work!

Anyone else have an idea of a relief for me? One that's safe while nursing??

We're back!!

We got back from camping a short time ago. We are all so exhausted!! Sad thing is we didn't do anything! LOL It was HOT!! This was our first camping trip with the dog!

Kevin and I got to the campsite first and set up our tent up on the hill under the afternoon shade tree. As we were finishing up setting things up, my mom and dad and sister's family showed up. They had a camper, so they didn't have to worry about the tent (mom and dad slept in the camper too). The kids played and we got the fire going.

On Saturday everyone except me, "M", the twins, and my sister went to the Serpent Mound. We, however, just hung out, playing board games and stuff. After everyone got back, we started playing Hillbilly Golf (which is a game a friend of theirs' friend makes...it's basically made of PVC pipe and golf balls with rope. You have the 2 PVC pipes set up a little wider than a ladder, 3 high...rebar is put into the ground to hold it up. You play by throwing 4 sets of golf balls, which are 2 golf balls that have been drilled through and connected by a rope, at the pipes across from you and the points are 3 for the top row, 2 for the middle, and 1 for the bottom...you play to 21, if you go over 21, you start going backwards. If your opponent lands on the same bar you are on, it cancels it out)...Kevin and I were partners (only fitting since it was our anniversary ;) ). We won every game except the last one! It was a bunch of fun.

Nothing too exciting, but it was fun for us! We hit a detour on the way home...took us 20 miles out of the way, with no direction on how to get around! Good thing Kevin had his GPS with us!

Happy Anniversary!!

Today is Kevin and I's 11th anniversary! How did we chose to spend it? We went camping with our family, my mom and dad, my sister and her family. We enjoyed ourselves though! It's nice to spend time with family too! We did play Hillbilly Golf all evening (once it cooled off...it was awful hot) and we won all the games, well with the exception of 1...but we didn't want the owner's of the game to get mad, so we let them win! LOL <-- That's our story and we're sticking to it!! LOL

We were talking to my mom and she jokingly said "This year you are enjoying your last year's present" LOL Meaning the twins! If you remember correctly, that's when we got pregnant last year!

Kevin is such a loving and caring man. I know I don't post much about him, but he's always there for me. He's my rock when I'm scared, my soft shoulder to cry on when I'm sad, he's there to share my joys and sorrows. He's my biggest fan...and I'm his!

Kevin doesn't show much emotion, he never has. He has a temper, but always keeps his cool around me. We very rarely get into fights or arguments.

This song is something that I always think of when I think of how well Kevin and I are together:
When God Made You By Newsboys
VERSE(1):
It's always been a mystery to me
How two hearts can come together
And love can last forever
And now that I have found you I believe
That a miracle is come
When God sends a perfect one

CHORUS:
Now gone are all my questions about why
And I've never been so sure of anything in my life
Oh I wonder what God was thinking
When He created you
I wonder if He knew everything I will need
Because He made all my dreams come true
When God made you
He must've been thinking about me

VERSE(2): (Sung by Natalie Grant)
I promise that wherever you may go
Wherever life may lead you
With all my heart I'll be there too
From this moment on I want you to know
I'll let nothing come between us
And I will love the ones you love

CHORUS
Now gone are all my questions about why
And I've never been so sure of anything in my life
I wonder what God was thinking
When He created you
I wonder if He knew everything I will need
Because He made all my dreams come true
When God made you
He must've been thinking about me

BRIDGE:
He made the sun and made the moon
To harmonize in perfect tune
One can't move without the other
They just have to be together
And that is why I know it's true
Your for me and I'm for you
Cause my world just can't be right (can't be right)
Without you in my life

I wonder what God was thinking
When He created you
I wonder if He knew everything I would need
Because He made all my dreams come true
He must've heard every prayer
I'd been prayin'
(I'd been prayin')
Yes He knew everything I would need
When God made you
(I thank God He made you)
When dreams come true
When God made you
He must've been thinking about me

I love him more and more every day!! Thank you God for bringing him into my life!

Camping

I am working on planning our camping trip. I guess I should explain a bit, last time we went camping, all I had to do was show up with my kiddos and our food. That's it! Everything else was planned. This time, my sister has to go out of town for 2 or 3 days this week, so she really doesn't have the time to do some stuff...including getting the groceries for the weekend. Also, my mom has something planned every day this week too. So, I told them that if they were to get me a list, I would do the grocery shopping for everyone. My sister has 4 kids...2 boys, 2 girls, age ranges from almost 15 to almost 9!! And they have more of an appetite than my boys do! This ought to be interesting! I hope I get enough food (but not overly too much). My sister and her husband just had a cow slaughtered, so I don't have to worry about hamburgers. At first thought, it was going to be, her supplying the hamburgers, me supplying the hot dogs and my parents supplying the buns...but now it looks like I'll be getting everything (except the hamburgers) for everyone! ;)

It's only fair though, my sister was the one who booked our campsite this time and last time. She had a bunch of games and activities planned last time too. And by the time the weekend was over with, she was totally exhausted! Not what camping is supposed to be...isn't it supposed to be relaxing?? So, I decided that this time around, I'm going to do the extra stuff for her so she doesn't have to worry about it!

Any ideas for activities for kids and adults? (Kids ages are...boy almost 15; girl 13; boy almost 12; girl almost 9; boy 8; boy almost 5; and twin infant boys.) I'm planning on taking some cards, but not sure what else to do. My sister said she didn't want it "structured", but we need to plan some activities.

We are going camping again this weekend!! YEAH!! I'm so excited!! Oh and on Saturday it will be Kevin and I's 11th Anniversary!! I told him I didn't want the same type of gift this year ;) (twins) LOL
