About our vacation...

Ok, I thought I'd tell you about our vacation and all we did...well, what I did...Kevin did his own thing most of the time I had no idea where he had went to! LOL

August 12th:
We left on Saturday at around 8:30 am and headed out. We drove until lunch and then stopped and ate some sandwiches that we had packed. Took off again and stopped for supper (again sandwiches). We also stopped 2 other times to get gas. We got to Richmond, VA around 7 pm and checked into our hotel. There was a wedding going on at the hotel next to ours, so, it was pretty crowded. We sat and watched some tv, I jumped on the computer and checked my email. We then ordered pizza. Ate, and went to bed.

August 13th:
We got up and took off around 9 am. Called my parents to see if they had taken off yet, but found out they were at the Urgent Care because my dad's arm had flared up and was hurting! We decided not to go to Kings Dominion only because it was very similar to Kings  Island and by the time we would get there, it would be about time to leave again. Not to mention it would be 1/2 hour out of our way. We drove until lunch and finished up the sandwiches we had. We got to our home (that we rented) around 2 pm. We couldn't check in until 4 pm. We called my sister and they were still a ways out (about to the point where we started that morning). We decided to go to the ocean. We played in the water, the boys LOVED it!! When it was close to 4 pm, we called my sister again, realizing that they weren't anywhere close, we had my sister call and see if I could check us all in. Thankfully, we were able to. We got to the house, and it was absolutely HUGE!! We chose are room and unloaded.
Explanation of the layout of the house: I will do my best to describe the house (I didn't take any pictures)...The driveway was gravel and surrounded by trees. There was a canoe to the side of the driveway. A 2 car garage was at the end of the driveway. As you were heading up to the front of the house, there was a table in chairs on the deck to the right, and stairs up onto the front porch, which was the entire length of the front of the house. As you entered into the front door, to the right was the living room, a slight jog to the right and straight was a set of stairs, to the left was the kitchen/dining room. We will start y going to the left. The dining room table was pretty least 10 chairs plus a bar that had 4 chairs and 2 stools. The kitchen was pretty large too. Off to the right of the kitchen was a bathroom and the laundry room. If you go through the laundry room, it took you out to the back porch and down the stairs is the pool and hot tub (enclosed), before going down the stairs and to the right was an enclosed porch. There was no grass in the back yard, just sand outside the fence which was fenced in (does that make any sense? LOL). Back into the house and back to the front door...let's now go towards those stairs I mentioned earlier. There was a bedroom at the bottom of the stairs ("M", "N", and "Ag2" shared that room), up the stairs and through the door...more steps going the other direction...up those stairs and there are more rooms! To the right was a bathroom and the Master bedroom that also had a Master bathroom with a jacuzzi tub (my mom and dad had that room). To the left were 3 bedrooms ("Jg1" and her friend "Agf" had one room, Deb and Nate had the other room, Liz had the 3rd room...I'm assuming, but didn't ask, that when Liz's boyfriend, Pat, came, he also stayed in the room with Liz, but I'm not positive about that since we weren't anywhere near that side of the house). Back down to the living room and over to the right there's a door. Through that door is a sitting room that has a tv and a computer. To the left of the room is a door to the screened in porch (same as the porch that is off the laundry room). To the right is a hallway that has a few stairs going down and some going up. If you take the ones going down, there is a bathroom and 2 bedrooms ("Jb1" and "Jb2" had 1 room and "Jg2" and "Ag1" had the other). If you go up the stairs, there was a kitchenette. It had a table that sat 4 (could have been more if moved out from the wall), a full fridge, and a bar. Off to the left side of the kitchenette was another screened in porch (different from the other), to the right was another set of stairs...they turned after about 4 steps. At the top of the stairs was another bedroom with a bathroom (this is where Kevin and I were). In this room, there was also a futon. Every room of the house (not the bathrooms or laundry room) had a tv in it! I got lost the 1st day and couldn't remember which stairs (or where they were at) to take to get to my room! LOL It was nice though with all the people we had in the house!
After unloading, Kevin ran out and got some McDonald's for us to eat while we waited for the rest of the family to arrive. My parents and Deb's family all arrived (after getting lost and having Kevin direct them there) around 8 pm. We were told at that point that Liz's family had left around 7 pm and were driving straight through and should arrive around 7 am. They all unpacked and everyone headed to bed.

August 14:
Around 7 am or so, Liz arrived with the girls! We all ate breakfast with the stuff we had (which wasn't a lot). Made out a grocery list and the women headed to the grocery store. We pretty much just hung out at the house and at in the pool. Of course a few of them headed to the ocean (which was within walking distance).

August 15:
Went shopping with mom, Deb, & Liz.

August 16:
Hung around the house and at the pool.

August 17:
I went shopping with my mom, dad, Deb, & Nate. Got a few t-shirts for my boys!

August 18:
Went to the beach with mom, dad, Deb, Nate and a few of the kids (Kevin stayed with the twins). Came home and got all cleaned up and then went to the salon with the girls (minus "Jg2") and got our nails done

August 19:
Got up and around 10:30 headed to the ocean to take our family photos. Came home, changed out of our star shirts, and Kevin and I went out for some gas and a few souvenirs to take to his parent's. When we got home, we changed back into our star shirts and went back to the beach with the whole family and took more photos. After that we went to a restaurant called Jimmy's Seafood buffet. It was great food! All the seafood you could eat! Pat told us he wanted to take us all out for allowing him to come and stay at the house with us for free! When Kevin and I calculated that up, his bill was $380 and that was BEFORE drinks!!!

August 20:
Finished packing and loading up and cleaned up the house a bit before taking off. We left around 8:30 and drove straight through...only stopping 3 times. We got home around 10:30 pm

Sort of boring, yes, I know, but it's what I did! I did enjoy myself! They were talking already about where we are going to go next time. Kevin said he wasn't going to go every year, maybe every other year with them. We'll see!!

Well, it looks like...

I'll be having surgery next month on my knee.

I was able to actually focus on what the doctor was saying today. Apparently, I have a slight ACL tear and a meniscus tear as well. The scope will be done to remove some of the damaged Meniscus and while they are in there, they will see how bad the damage is to the ACL. If it's bad enough, we are talking ACL reconstruction. The difference of the 2 surgeries is a bit different from what my previous doctor said. The recover rate for the ACL reconstruction is around 9 months to be up and out playing physical activities again. I would be on crutches for 10 days and would probably need help for about 2 weeks with my children.

You know...I'm ok, I'm still praying for the lesser surgery, but I'm not freaking out any longer. I'm at Peace! Isn't God great about things like that?!

My knee

Just thought I’d let you all know. We are looking at surgery. I tore my ACL. And the doctor said something about a cartilage, but I can’t remember that part.

We have 2 possible things here…1, they will have to do a scope and remove something (can’t remember exactly what they said) and it would be about ½ hour surgery and I would go home that day. OR 2, after they do the scope and something else is wrong (which they couldn’t tell from my MRI) they would have to go in and repair it (same surgery, while I’m still under), it would be about a 2 hour surgery and I would stay overnight at the hospital…the full recovery for this one could take up to a year.

I don’t have the surgery set yet. It won’t be done until after I get back from vacation since I will be on crutches. I’m praying for the 1st scenario so that the recovery would be easier.

Went to the doctor today

They are referring me to an orthopedic specialist. :( The doctor didn't like that I still had some swelling in my leg (above my knee).

My knee...

Well, I went to the orthopedic specialist yesterday afternoon...he looked at my knee, gave me a shot of cortisone and sent me off to get an MRI.

I got the MRI last night, so now it's a waiting game to see what's next.

Please pray for me!

Bible Study

I don't know if many of you know that I've been going to bible study every Monday night or not.

It's a Beth Moore study called "Jesus, the One and Only"...can I just say it's AWESOME!!! I'm learning so much and she really gives another perspective on really makes you think! The study is on the life of starts out with the story of Elizabeth becoming pregnant and moves forward through the book of Luke.

There are questions in this study that makes me really think...for of the things Beth Moore asks is, what questions would you ask Mary? Well, things I thought about were, How did your family react? What was L&D like? some of the other ladies were asking questions like What was Jesus like as a boy? Did you know the exact moment you became pregnant?

It's weird, I've read the stories before, but there are things I picked up on this time around that I didn't before. I'm starting to feel the connection of what it was like when Jesus was walking the earth. How it must have felt...if I were there.

Anyway, I'm learning a lot and loving it!!

My knee is feeling better, but I still have a ways to go.

It's still sore, and bruising is setting in, however, I am now walking without crutches. The swelling went down, only to come back this weekend since I did too much.

I went to the doctor on Friday and she said that I'm doing a lot better, but wants to see me again this coming Friday to determine if I would still need an MRI (I would only need one if my knee doesn't get 90% - 100% better by then...and I'm seeing a lot of improvement from last Tuesday).

Well, I went and did it! I hurt myself playing softball! I was running after a ball and down I went! I hurt my left knee! I went to the dr and she said it looked like a sprain. I have to go back on Friday to have it checked...if it's not any better, then I have to get an MRI done.
So here I sit with my brace on, crutches by my side...I think I'm done playing softball!!

Kevin has been such a great support! When I fell, he came out to the outfield and was asking a lot of questions. He and a husband of another player carried me off the field. Kevin even missed his game to take me to the Urgent Care and to get my prescriptions.

So if you could all pray that my leg heals quickly and that I don't have anything other than a sprain, I'd greatly appreciate it. It's pretty sore still. Thank you!

My weekend!

We left Friday afternoon for Camping over in IN. It was 3 hours away. Let me just say, it didn't start out so well! :(
My parents came down and helped us finish loading and were going to drive down together. "M" & "N" wanted to ride with them. We take off...traffic is pretty heavy, Kevin decides to start the GPS (not sure why he didn't when we were home)...The GPS keeps trying to take us back home so it can start from there! We made a wrong turn and we weren't even out of Cincinnati yet!! We get there, it's about 7 pm...we haven't eaten, we don't have fire wood, and we need to set up our tent! Kevin gets started in unloading to set up the tent. My mom and dad were watching the boys and then decided to go to Wal-Mart to pick up a tent (they were going to sleep on a mattress in the back of the truck). They take off, (leaving "M", "N", "D", & "A") and I go looking for my camera...OOPS, left it at home! :( Kevin and I get to work on the tent, "D" & "A" start's getting late and we need to feed them. So, I pick up "D"...and find a tick on him!! Kevin gets the tick off and I go and get the wood that dad brought as kindling to start a fire. Then realize that I had forgot ALL the hot dogs! :( Did I mention that it was my mom and dad, my sister, her 4 kids, and her husband camping with us? We split up who was to bring what...I was in charge of bringing all the hot dogs! Yeah, they were back in the freezer at home :( So I go rummaging in mom & dad's cooler to see what they have...found some meat. All I could think of is how bad of a mom I boys haven't eaten and I forgot the food! I start a fire, well, I attempt to start a fire. I wasn't doing so hot with that either! It's dark, everyone is hungry and the bugs...OH MY the bugs! I hate bugs with a passion...there were a TON of bugs (not sure what I was expecting since we were camping in a woods). Kevin, getting pretty aggravated at me by this point, swipes away the fire poker and takes over. He gets the boys fed, while I sulk and wish I were at home! Mom & Dad finally come back (they got lost on their way back) and Kevin had to set up their tent too (he wasn't too happy about that since he hates setting up tents in the dark, but since it was my dad asking for help, he jumped right up and helped with a smile). And that was just day 1!! Of course, we did a Wal-Mart run the next day for hot dogs!

It was So hot there, good thing we brought a tent fan! I also spent time in my sister's camper with the air conditioner. After I got over my mood from day 1, things went better. However, I was obsessed with checking for ticks! By the time the weekend was all said and done, 3 of my 4 boys had one, Kevin had found 2 of them crawling around on his leg, My BIL found one or 2 as well! But we found them before any damage could be done!! PHEW!

So anyway, we couldn't play our Hill Billy Golf or Corn hole or Bocce Ball because there wasn't enough room to play games. On a good note though, we did book a site right next to the shower/bathroom and a park! So the boys were loving that! The guys all got to see how a farm was run in the 1800s. They thought that was cool! Everyone (except me, the twins, and my dad) went to some Caves and had a wonderful time there too!

So, even though my weekend started out bad, it wasn't that bad! We got home last night. I'm so exhausted...even my autopilot isn't working so well! Of course "D" & "A" don't want to lay down for a nap before "M" gets home, so there's no nap for mommy! :( I wonder how well I'll play today? Probably not so hot!

My Mother's day

Yesterday we decided to head up to my parent's house for the weekend. When we got up there, we (me and the twins) went shopping with my sister, niece, and my mom. This morning, my mom took "M" & "N" to Sunday School. When we got to church, "N" and "M" gave me a flower and a hand-made card. It was neat, "M"'s said "Happy Mother's Day" on the front, and inside, it said "I love you". "N"'s said "N" all over the front and inside...the only word he knows how to write. :D

My mom got me a flower, my sister got me a small rose plant. Kevin gave me (well, I bought and told him he got it for me LOL) a new bible cover. But after talking to him, I think we are going to purchase a DVR or whatever...and it will be my Mother's Day and Kevin's Father's Day gifts.

When we got home, "M" gave me a book that they made at's so sweet! Here's what it says (he wrote and drew all the pictures himself...each break is another page and with HIS spellings)...

Title: The Best Mom In The World!

Some moms like Mexican food, Chinese food, or Golden Coral

But my mom likes Italian!!!

Some moms like Disney land or parkes

But my mom likes Kings Island.

Some moms like to exersise, bike run or jumprope

But my mom likes to clean.

Some moms make candy, cakes and maybe the best giant cookies

But my mom makes the best ginger Bread house.

Some moms make mac and cheese and pizza

But my mom makes the best pies in the world.

Some moms go to their own crazy work

But my mom is at home wich makes my mom the best at it in the whole entire world

Isn't that just the sweetest?? That's a book that I will cherish forever! :) Makes me feel like I'm making a difference being a SAHM...I feel so appreciated!!

Girls Day Out!

On Saturday morning, I left Kevin and all 4 boys here while I met my mom, sister, 2 aunts and a cousin at the Flea Market...that was at 9:30 am! We shopped the flea market then decided to go to Cracker Barrel for lunch (it was 1:30 when we got there). After that, we headed out to another Flea Market and shopped there. Then we all decided to head to Caribou for some coffee and to give our feet a rest. Then off to TJ MAXX and Michael's for some more shopping! I didn't get home until I was exhausted! But that was a lot of fun! :) I'm so glad I was nice to get away from being a mommy even if it was just for a short time! :)

I feel...:  happy

I'm so excited!! It was decided last night that we are going on vacation this summer!! YEAH! Kevin and I don't go on vacations very often...we've went 2 times since being married and they have been with family. This one is with my family too!

My sister and her family (there are 6 of them total), my sister's friend and her daughters (3 total, maybe 1-2 more if they each bring a friend), my parents (2), and our family (6) are all going together! They all did this before, we just couldn't go because I was pregnant with the twins the last time they went and we had just moved (just not in the funds!).

Anyway, we are going to the Outer banks in North Carolina. We are getting a house there for the week! Here is one we are looking at We are looking at the one called "Sand Trap".

Guess since I'll be in a swimming suit, I'd better get to losing some weight!!!
